This Solarplate etching was developed from a manipulated photograph, printed with akua inks. Samhain is a Gaelic festival marking the end of the harvest season and beginning of winter or "darker-half" of the year. It begins on October 31st (our Halloween.). October 31st and November1st is considered to be a liminal time when “the veil is thin” between the seen and unseen worlds.
